Vineyards

The warm, dry summers and mild, moist winters make southern and mid Vancouver Island a “cool” maritime Mediterranean climate ideal for winemaking. We are proud to be home to several award winning vineyards.

Church & State Wines

Originally established here on the island in 2004, Church & State Wines in Brentwood (a 15 minute drive from downtown Victoria) is the largest winery on Vancouver Island. Church & State are known for their bold coloured labels and cheeky branding. We recommend booking a lunch overlooking the vast vineyard while sipping award winning wines on a beautiful summer afternoon. Church & State wines focus on the unique terroir of the Brentwood region.

Unsworth Vineyards

Tradition meets artisanal winemaking. A family owned and operated winery committed to handcrafting wines of distinction in the Cowichan Valley. Unsworth is our favorite vineyard and we highly recommend taking a day trip to book a private tasting of their award winning wines and then a delicious lunch on their beautiful property. We adore their Rosé Charme De l’Isle and Sparkling Brut.
